Choose Life

Random musings on Genesis 3 from a scatter-brained Jesus loving girl......

1.  Adam and Eve tried to cover themselves but must have been unsuccessful if they hid to hide their nakedness.
2.  Adam and Eve tried to cover their differences (loincloths)
3.  Satan attacks our weak spot, our heel which makes it difficult to walk
4.  We bruise his head, his ego
5.  Satan eats dust ~ he gets what was used to make us, not what we became
6.  Satan gets the ashes of the refining fire, not the resulting beauty from the ashes
7.  The tree of knowledge of good and evil was forbidden, the tree of life never was
8.  God covered us then, and continues to do so now, with His banner and blood

"I have set before you life and death, blessings and curses, now choose life......."

Taken and placed.......

God given directions are always for my good, never my harm.
God given directions are always for my benefit, never my detriment.
If God puts me in my time and place in history, a parallel could be drawn that my lot is my garden, my inheritance.
When He gives me instructions, it could be said that my garden is plentiful and has parameters for my health.
When He holds information back, it is for my safety.
When I have a relationship with Him, and I know that He is faithful, then He alone is enough.

In its time....

When I read the story of creation again, it occurs to me that God knew our needs and met them in advance.
Knowing He is the same yesterday, today, and forever, and that He continues to make all things beautiful, He did this before I took my first breath also.
If He continues doing this until Jesus returns and all things are set right permanently, why do I keep trying to take over?

Then God Said......

God created all things in preparation for His guests.  When all things were ready, He invited them in and showed them around.  And rather than placing the burden on them to make a space for Him, He made them in His image so that they would know where they belong and to whom they belong.
If He made our hearts His home to dwell within us, why do we keep a sign on the door that says, "No Room?"
And when we open the door of His home to let Him in, why do we keep some doors closed?
Truth is, He holds the keys and could open any door He wanted at any time.  But He's God, and He's polite, and He knocks, and waits patiently to be invited.

Ephesians 1:4

It never occurred to me that my family history with God goes way beyond the blood lines of genetic similarity.  As a child of God, I have a legacy of faithfulness that goes back to before the beginning of time.

Psalm 51:17

I don't think there is a correct amount of brokenness, but I believe that the evidence of brokenness is found in the fruitfulness that comes from a heart and soul that were broken by sin and brought back to life by the power of a redeeming God.
