In the beginning......

John 1:1-5  In the beginning was the word, and the word was with God, and the word was God.  All things were made through Him and without Him nothing was made that was made.  In Him was life, and the life was the light of men.  And the light shines in darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it.

Father, these are the things I know....
In the beginning You were.  Nothing existed before You and in You all things are complete.  And Your precious, life giving word brought about all the things that came into existance to be named by Adam.  But You didn't stop there.  All the things that ever would exist were completed in Your mind, in Your pefect plan, to be a part of Your story in the time and place You determined in the beginning. And nothing that has existed up to this point, comes into existance today, or is birthed tomorrow happens except through you.  All things....people, animals, places, cars, buildings, businesses.  All through You, all for You, all for an eternal purpose of glory giving, finger pointing, honor and fame directing, life affirming reasons that You alone need to know that somehow graciously allow us to participate.  Help us to look to Your big picture, to seek You first in every action and decision, and to fully comprehend that Your plans can never be thwarted by an enemy or our good intentions.  Lead us in the way we should go, give us Your strength to do the work You prepared in advance for us to do, help us rely on the knowledge that You finish what you start, and that regardless of our emotional state or confused perceptions, that You are always with us to the ends of the earth.
