Finish His Work

John 4:34-38  Jesus said to them, "My food is to do the will of Him who sent Me and to finish His work.  Do you not say, 'There are still four months and then comes the harvest'?  Behold, I say to you, lift up your eyes and look at the fields, for they are already white for harvest!  And he who reaps receives wages, and gathers fruit for eternal life, that both he who sows and he who reaps may rejoice together.  For in this the saying is true: 'One sows and another reaps'. I sent you to reap for that which you have not labored; others have labored, and you have entered in to their labors."

Father, my joy and my delight come through You from watching You move, build up, encourage, and love through Your blessings.  The things You do for those who follow You, the way You lead them, step by step through the work of Your Spirit in them is amazing.  And in the process, You invite us to work with You, to labor on Your behalf, and we are the ones who receive the wages!  Remove the veil from my eyes to see what is ready to be gathered, go before me to clear the way in, guard behind me that I don't miss any opportunities, and help me to celebrate all those who come to know You, who played a part in the work, and the astounding work of Your hands.  I am surrounded by things my mind can not imagine, my eyes have not seen or my ears heard.  And they satisfy in indescribable ways.  Amen.
